Material Handling

Loading the Material Roll

Preparation:

  • Make sure the machine is initialized and ready for operation.
  • Check if the previous roll has been completely unloaded.
  • Ensure the work area is free from obstacles.

Alignment of the Material Roll:

  • Position the material roll so that it is parallel to the machine.

    WARNING

Precise alignment is crucial! A misaligned roll will cause material drift during operation and requires reloading.

  • Check the alignment from both sides of the machine

  • The roll must be exactly parallel to the feed edge

  • Use the machine markings as a guide

  • Correct even the smallest deviations

Loading the Material:

  1. With Node System:
  • Scan the roll ID with the barcode scanner
  • Wait for confirmation in the system
  • The system automatically loads the corresponding material parameters

  1. Without Node System: Proceed directly with loading

Material Insertion:

  • Insert the material straight into the feed mechanism
  • Ensure the material is not twisted
  • Secure the material in the designated clamping device
  • Make sure the material is evenly tensioned across its entire width

Start Loading Process:

  1. Wait until the "Load Material Roll" button lights up green:

  1. Click the button to start the automatic loading process

Monitoring the Loading Process:

  1. Carefully observe the feed process:
  • Watch for uniform feeding
  • Check if the material feeds straight
  • Monitor material tension
  1. In case of irregularities:
  • Press the stop button immediately
  • Unload the roll
  • Correct the alignment
  • Restart the loading process

WARNING

Misaligned material feed cannot be corrected during operation and will result in faulty cuts!

Initial Cross Cut

Preparation:

Check after loading if the material is correctly positioned:

  • Material must lie straight and without tension
  • No wrinkles or waves in the cutting area

Execution:

  1. Select the cross cut button in the action bar
  2. The system displays the cutting window
  3. Observe the cutting process:
  • Watch for uniform cutting motion
  • Check the cut edge for cleanness

INFO

Even though the initial cross cut can be skipped, it is strongly recommended. It ensures a defined, straight starting edge, prevents dimensional deviations in subsequent cuts, and increases the overall quality of cuts.

Parameter Settings

With Node System:

The system automatically loads the basic parameters for the scanned roll. Still check the loaded parameters:

  • Verify the displayed values
  • Compare with material requirements

Manual Parameter Selection:

  1. Open the parameter selection in the upper right area (Default)
  2. Select the appropriate parameter for your material from the list

Parameter Adjustment

  1. Click the pencil button next to the parameter
  2. In the edit dialog, you can adjust the following values:
  • Cutting speed
  • Acceleration
  • Head pressure
  • Other material-specific settings

WARNING

Even with active Node System, parameters must be checked and adjusted if necessary. The system only suggests basic settings.

Unloading Material Roll

Preparation:

  1. Ensure all cutting operations are completed
  2. Check if the winder is free

Unloading Process:

  1. Click the material unload button in the action bar:

  1. Monitor the automatic unloading process:
  • Watch for uniform material ejection
  • Check if the material properly detaches from the machine

After Unloading:

  1. Only remove the material roll after complete standstill
  2. Check the feed area for material remnants
  3. Prepare the machine for the next roll:
  • Clean the feed mechanism if necessary
  • Check the clamping device

WARNING

Never attempt to manually pull or guide the material during the unloading process. Let the machine perform the process automatically.
